Bellevue, WA – May 24, 2021 – The Zenoti Foundation, today held its first Seattle Shelter Day event in collaboration with the Gene Juarez Academy and the Jubilee Women’s Center. The foundation is the charitable non-profit organization of Zenoti, the leading enterprise cloud platform for the beauty, wellness, and fitness industry.
Giving back is inherent in the Zenoti brand, and the Zenoti Foundation was created to make a difference to the industries and communities they serve. “We believe there is greatness in every single person, but for that greatness to be expressed, the person needs to feel good,” says Sudheer Koneru, Zenoti CEO and Co-Founder. “Even a simple thing like a haircut, can help someone become more confident and go that much further in achieving what they want in life. So, this is our small way of making a difference to those in need.”
Key Zenoti Foundation initiatives for 2021 include scholarships for the next generation of beauty, wellness and fitness practitioners as well as a nationwide Shelter Days initiative to offer salon services for the homeless and terminally ill. Zenoti has dedicated $500,000 in support of these initiatives.
Today’s event in support of the Jubilee Women’s Center took place at the Gene Juarez South Academy in Federal Way, where more than 20 shelter residents and staff had the opportunity to select from a customized menu of Gene Juarez Academy’s most popular haircuts and nail services. Services were performed by Gene Juarez Academy cosmetology students: under the supervision of their licensed educators.
The Zenoti Foundation Shelter Days were inspired by their partnership with UK-based Haircuts 4 the Homeless, who have surpassed 40,000 haircuts for those in need. The Zenoti Foundation Shelter Days series in the US is launching in support of the homeless and terminally ill in collaboration with Zenoti salon, barbershop, and charity partners. The Shelter Day series kicked off in Seattle and will roll out nationally via 15+ community outreach events in cities including Portland, Los Angeles, Austin, Philadelphia, and New York. Key Shelter Day collaborators include Gene Juarez Academy, The Beauty Bus Foundation, Snip-its, Kenneth Shuler School of Cosmetology, Bird’s Barbershop, Boardroom Salon, Parker’s Barbershop and many more in support of shelters across the nation.
“Zenoti partners with leading brands in beauty and wellness, and they all share our passion for the positive impact our industry has on people,” shares Sudheer Koneru. “We are proud to collaborate with the Gene Juarez Academy in this initiative as well as many to come.”
The Shelter Days initiative shines a light on the important role wellness plays in mental health and the impact personal care has on overall wellness and the ability to boost confidence.
“We are excited to partner with the Zenoti Foundation and Gene Juarez Academy to offer salon services to the women living at Jubilee. The collaboration provides an opportunity for Zenoti, Gene Juarez Academy students and the Jubilee Program Participants to learn from each other,” said Kari Whitacre, Executive Director, Jubilee Women’s Center, “Looking good and feeling good go hand and hand, we are grateful to the students and the academy for hosting Jubilee at this special event and to the Zenoti Foundation for sponsoring.”
“Giving back to the communities we service is an integral part of our Gene Juarez culture and the immeasurable impact of providing hair and nail services to those in need is a powerful thing and makes a difference in the lives we touch,” said Mary Gabuat, Campus Director. “Both the event with the Jubilee Women’s Center as well as our scholarship program are great examples of what our partnership can achieve!”
Following today’s event, the next Zenoti Foundation Shelter Day in Seattle will take place on June 14th in collaboration with Snip-Its and The Sophia Way, Helen’s Place shelter.
